The Gardener, partly carved from Bath stone is poised ready to cut the chair shaped hedge but is obviously never going to be able to do it. The hedge will grow to envelope the gardener and the empty toolshed has an uneasy relationship with the hoe that is also out of reach of him. Again there is a birdtable leaning over adding to the unsettled situation. Oil on canvas..
